Silver-mounted German cello bow by Herbert Wanka, 80g

Herbert Wanka (b.1938) trained in Bubenreuth before setting up his own business there in 1971. He moved to Baiersdorf six years later. His bows are well regarded by professional players

This bow is in very good condition with its original parts

Stick: pernambuco (Paubrasilia echinata)

Mounts: silver, ebony (Diospyros spp)

Pearl: pink/green abalone (Haliotis spp)

Thumb band: kangaroo leather (Macropus giganteus)

Lapping: silver

Face: bone (Bos indicus)
